HOW LAW SCHOOLS WOULD SEE A GIVEN LSAT SCORE

For each given LSAT SCORE (first column), we partition the law schools into three categories. The first category (second column) indicates the number of law schools at which the given LSAT SCORE would fall at or below the 25th percentile with respect to the LSAT scores of the first-year class (Your chances of being admitted to one of these law schools is mighty slim); the second category indicates the number of law schools at which the given LSAT SCORE would fall strictly between the 25th and 75th percentile; the third category indicates the number of law schools at which the given LSAT SCORE would fall at or above the 75th percentile (with a good GPA, a very good chance of being admitted).

Example. Consider an applicant with an LSAT score of 160. At 34 law schools (these law schools would be highly selective), this candidate would be in the bottom 25 percent of the entering class with respect to LSAT score. Although other factors may play a part, very likely this candidate would be rejected. At 50 law schools (these law schools would be moderately selective), this candidate would be strictly between the 25th and 75th percentile of the entering class with respect to LSAT score. Since other factors will definitely play a part, we can make no prediction.   At 103 law schools (these law schools would not be too selective), this candidate would be in the top 25 percent of the entering class with respect to LSAT score. Although other factors may play a part, very likely this candidate would be accepted.
