LAW SCHOOL RANKING THE HUNDRED MOST SELECTIVE |
In this section, we shall concentrate on the one hundred most selective law schools. In
EIGHTY LEAST SELECTIVE LAW SCHOOLS, we shall concentrate on the bottom 84 of the 184 fully accredited law schools. In
MORE ON SELECTIVE LAW SCHOOLS, we shall consider the top fifteen ranking law schools and the bottom fifteen law schools in each of the four categories involving the twenty-fifth and seventh-fifth percentile of the GPA and LSAT. |
LAW SCHOOL RANKING SELECTIVE LAW SCHOOLS I METHODOLOGY |
| |
| To calculate the top 100 Selective Law School Ranking, we used the GPA 25th percentile (counts 16 percent), GPA 75th percentile (counts 24 percent), LSAT 25th percentile (counts 24 percent), and LSAT 75th percentile (counts 36 percent). Note that GPA counts forty percent (16+24) and that LSAT counts sixty percent (24+36); also notice that the twenty-fifth percentile counts forty percent (16+24) and that the seventy-fifth percentile counts sixty percent (24+36). When we calculate the 80 LEAST SELECTIVE law schools, we shall use a different weighted average. |
THE 2008 (APRIL 9, 2007) RANKING OF LAW SCHOOLS BY SELECTIVITY (Top 100) |
Some law schools may be able to use this table to see the strengths and weaknesses of their admission policy. Note that we work with the 25th percentile and the 75th percentile for both GPA and LSAT; also for each of these four pencentiles we give the rank of each of our hundred most selective law schools; note that this rank may vary from 1 to 184. The last two columns give the selective rank of the top one hundred most selective law schools. * Note that Wayne State University (Detroit) is a USN Tier Four law school but ranks 85 in selectivity. The University of Memphis is a USN Tier Three law school but ranks 88 in selectivity. |
